Tweak #26 - february 27, 2002
ICQ has a built-in feature to automatically update itself over the internet. One of the consequences is that you might suddenly start having banners with advertisements in your ICQ windows.
This tweak disables the automatic update.
Go to the registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mirabilis\ICQ\DefaultPrefs
Look for the following value:
AutoUpdate
This value should exist as a REG_SZ and be set to "Yes".
Change this value to "No" (without the quotes).
