Kill hung processes when logging off

Tweak #27 - march 20, 2002

When you log off from Windows, Windows tries to end all programs you started. When a program is not responding, you are asked to end it.

On Windows NT, 2000 and XP, you can make windows do this automatically.

The tweak

Go to the registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

Look for the following value:

AutoEndTasks

This value should exist as a REG_DWORD and be set to 0.

Change this value to 1.
