Add "Explore from here" to a folder's context menu

Tweak #20 - januari 2, 2002

This ius one of the classic windows tweaks. This tweak adds an item called "Explore from here" to the menu that pops up when you right-click a folder.

When you select this menu item, a new explorer is opened with the selected folder as it's root item.

The tweak

Go to the registry key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/Folder/Shell

Create a new key with the name:

rootexplore

Navigate to this new key and set its value to:

Explore from here

In the newly created subkeys, create a new key with the following name:

command

Navigate to the newly created command key and set the default value to:

Explorer.exe /e,/root,/idlist,%I
