Windows XP Pro:
If the computer is joined to a workgroup and the
"Force network logons using local accounts to authenticate as Guest" policy is
enabled, you can not explore the computer's registry. Note that this policy is enabled by default for a
computer running Windows XP Professional that is joined to a workgroup.
Windows XP Home Edition:
You will not be able to browse the remote registry.
Windows 95/98/Me:
To use Registry Explorer - Network Edition, you must install
the Microsoft Remote Registry service. Perform the following
steps to install the Microsoft Remote Registry service.
To install the Microsoft Remote Registry service:
If you are prompted to specify the location of additional files, specify the path to the files on a shared network directory or on the compact disc.
